Job summary

Eccalon, LLC seeks a Senior SDET/QA Automation Engineer to own automated testing across web apps and backend services supporting DoD, Intelligence, and enterprise programs. You will design and maintain robust test frameworks and integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.

This is a hands-on senior role with broad visibility across the full engineering stack. This role collaborates directly with software engineers, DevOps, and product teams to shift quality left and ensure mission-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years SDET/QA automation experience.
• Hands-on with Playwright and/or Cypress.
• Strong API testing with Postman and REST Assured.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• Experience CI/CD integration (GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins).
• Familiarity with AWS services and Azure GCC High.
• Experience testing OAuth2, SAML, OIDC, MFA.
• Understanding of HTTP/REST/JSON and web app architecture.
• Independent and able to prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end UI automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Cypress.
• Develop and maintain API and backend test suites with Postman collections and REST Assured.
• Write clean test code in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript; promote coding standards.
• Create reusable test utilities, fixtures, and data factories.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) with quality gates.
• Configure synthetic monitoring scripts and triage false positives.
• Define and track test coverage, pass rates, and flakiness trends.
• Validate REST APIs against specifications; test OAuth2, SAML, OIDC, MFA.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to improve testability and contracts.
• Mentor engineers on QA practices and maintain test documentation for audits.
