Job summary

Field AI in Irvine, CA is seeking a software testing engineer to design, build, and maintain a scalable automated testing framework using Playwright and TypeScript, integrated with product engineering workflows.

You will embed with engineering teams, define test strategies during design, and own the CI/CD gateway to keep PR builds fast and reliable. This role requires 5–8 years of hands-on testing experience and strong TS/JS skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of professional software testing or QA engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and Playwright proficiency.
• Experience embedding with product teams and advocating automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a scalable automated testing framework using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Embed within Product Engineering teams and influence test strategies during design.
• Own the CD gateway, optimize for fast, flaky-free PR builds.
• Write end-to-end tests for robot/cloud APIs and data workflows.
• Architect test-data management and environment hygiene for high-frequency runs.
• Create observability tooling and dashboards for rapid regression visibility.
