Job summary

Ascendum System Private Limited is seeking a Senior SDET who combines automation engineering with AI in QA. You will own the quality of features, build reusable automation, and apply AI-assisted methods in day-to-day QA.

This is a senior individual contributor role with technical direction and minimal hand-holding. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to define testing strategies, measure coverage, and deliver reliable QA solutions across UI and API

Qualifications

• Must have proven track record owning quality for features or workstreams.
• Strong test strategy and risk-based coverage; balance manual/automated testing.
• Experience partnering with developers and product managers.
• Ability to judge quality risk and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own quality of features/workstreams from planning to release readiness.
• Define testing approach, depth, and methods for your area.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers in reviews and planning.
• Track quality signals and act on defects and coverage gaps.
• Build and maintain scalable automation across UI and API layers.
• Design reusable framework components and evolve automation standards.
• Write production-quality automation using Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent.
• Keep automation healthy by fixing flakes and removing outdated tests.
• Implement AI-assisted QA approaches and work with LLM APIs.
• Document work well and mentor less experienced SDETs.
