Description

Leidos is seeking a Sr. Scrum Master to support large-scale migration and operations on a high-profile DOD contract. The I3TS program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable DTRA’s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) to modernize and innovate IT services and mission capabilities for internal and external partners in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

The Scrum Master will lead implementation teams, ensuring project delivery on time, and mitigating risks related to cost and schedule. The role requires an experienced Agile Scrum Master to facilitate and manage teams working on modernization efforts for the DTRA IT environment. Responsibilities include educating teams in Scrum or Kanban, removing impediments, fostering high-performing team environments, and ensuring commitments are met during Program Increment (PI) Planning. The Scrum Master will also facilitate horizontal communication to identify and address impediments.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate self-organizing teams to meet Program Increment commitments.
  2. Remove impediments and coordinate solutions with team members.
  3. Support and enforce Scrum processes and rules.
  4. Ensure team understanding of the Definition of Done and how to achieve it.
  5. Coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) and communicate status to management.
  6. Collaborate with Product Owners to review and prioritize features.
  7. Lead ceremonies including sprint planning, review, demos, retrospectives, and PI planning.
  8. Work with Product Owners to develop User Stories meeting acceptance criteria.
  9. Maintain and generate information radiators for the teams.
  10. Collect, share, and improve team metrics.
  11. Coach teams on agile and Scrum principles for continuous improvement.
  12. Observe team dynamics, recognize strengths and weaknesses, and coach for productivity.
  13. Create a fun, collaborative environment, experimenting with ideas like pair-programming and cross-training.
  14. Promote teamwork to achieve sprint goals.
  15. Guide teams toward agile maturity.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8-12 years' experience or Master’s degree with 6-10 years' experience (additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Team Lead in systems engineering, IT support, or network engineering teams.
  • Experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Rally, IBM RTC).
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, diverse environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large software systems, hardware integration, and testing.
  • Experience in an Agile environment or program.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Experience using SAFe methodology.
  • Experience leading organizational change toward agile adoption.
  • Knowledge of test automation, TDD, CI/CD, and quality practices.
  • Experience with Kanban for support teams.
  • Certifications such as CSM, SSM, or PMI-ACP.
