Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Scientist, Claims and Real-World Data, to own the transformation and quality control of claims-derived data products linking to molecular information. You will define phenotyping rules, ensure HIPAA-compliant linkage, collaborate with privacy and legal teams, and contribute to customer education and data partnerships in a fast‑moving precision medicine environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and outcomes research, health informatics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on with administrative claims data in real-world evidence or healthcare analytics.
• Experience building claims-derived variables (line of therapy, treatment episodes, comorbidity indices, outcomes).
• Experience with claims-to-clinical or claims-to-molecular linkage and HIPAA-compliant data handling.
• Strong programming skills (SQL and Python or R) and data quality-control discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, transformation logic, and quality control of claims-derived data products (demographics, diagnoses, procedures, drugs, mortality).
• Define and document claims phenotyping, line-of-therapy, treatment-episode, and outcome derivations.
• Validate claims-to-molecular linkage and tokenization with privacy and legal teams.
• Establish QA/QC frameworks and maintain a data dictionary.
• Serve as the claims SME in technical discussions with partners and customers.
• Support analytics and feasibility deliverables demonstrating value of combined data.
• Harmonize claims with EMR and pathology sources.
• Contribute to customer education, training, and documentation.
