Job summary

LaMotte Company, a senior scientist role, is seeking an experienced professional in reagent and formulation development to join the R&D team in Newark, DE (hybrid eligible). The role focuses on developing and improving water-analysis products, including lyophilized and tablet formulations, with cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, quality, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Materials Science, Formulation Science, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industrial R&D, formulation, product-development, process-development, or related experience preferred.
• Experience taking a chemical formulation from concept through optimization, stability evaluation, scale-up, and/or manufacturing transfer preferred.
• Experience in organic chemistry, lyophilization, tablet formulation or compression, solid-state or dry reagent formulation, reagent stabilization, or moisture-sensitive systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to development, evaluation, and improvement of water-analysis products and reagents.
• Design, conduct, document, and analyze experiments for liquid, dried, and solid-state systems.
• Develop and optimize reagent formulations including lyophilized and tablet formats.
• Investigate effects of moisture, temperature, oxygen, light, and packaging on stability and performance.
• Prepare test plans, technical reports, and development documentation.
• Mentor scientists and collaborate across disciplines.
