Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 0–5 years of hands-on experience in a chemical or analytical lab.
  • Experience with wet chemistry techniques: UV-Vis, fluorescence, titrations, calibrations, turbidity.
  • Understanding of process development and scale-up; manufacturing support preferred.
  • Excellent data analysis, technical reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
  • Must be able to pass a color test.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical implementation of new technologies transitioning R&D to manufacturing.
  • Conduct experiments to develop, evaluate, and optimize new instruments and methods.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to guide research decisions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges with cross-functional teams.
  • Support validation and verification testing to ensure quality.
  • Maintain detailed lab documentation and contribute to reports and SOPs.
  • Recommend improvements to experimental design and lab safety practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams representing R&D in production, quality, and support discussions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $28.00 Hourly

Position Summary:

This position is ideal for a highly skilled and motivated laboratory professional who thrives on innovation, precision, and collaboration. The R&D Technician will take a support role in advancing new technologies and optimizing processes within the department to ensure project success and technical excellence.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support technical implementation of new, state-of-the-art technologies, supporting the transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Conduct experiments to develop, evaluate, and optimize new chemical testing instruments, formulations, and analytical methods under the guidance of scientists and engineers.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to guide research decisions and improve product performance and reliability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges, collaborating with engineers, chemists, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support validation and verification testing for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory documentation, contributing to technical reports, SOPs, and product development records.
  • Recommend improvements to experimental design, lab practices, and safety protocols to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams, representing R&D in production, quality, and customer support discussions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (Such duties may or may not be essential functions of the job.)
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred), or equivalent work experience (~5 years).
  • 0 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in a chemical or analytical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wet chemistry techniques including UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence, titrations, calibrations, turbidity, and general laboratory instrumentation.
  • Understanding of process development and scale-up, with experience supporting manufacturing or production processes preferred.
  • Excellent data analysis, technical reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Must be able to pass a color test.
Environmental Factors/Physical/Mental Capabilities:

Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Handles various chemicals. Requires good problem solving, judgment, communication skills, and color perception. Requires walking, standing, sitting, good manual dexterity and transporting up to 30 pounds.
