Job summary
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist II to lead independent and collaborative research in molecular diagnostics and translational science at the CIF Diagnostic Research Lab in Travis AFB, CA.
The successful candidate will design novel assays, mentor residents and staff, advance graduate education, and contribute to manuscripts, grants, and presentations while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree required in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Genomics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5–8 years independent research experience.
- Must complete CITI/HIPAA training.
- Experience with assay development and validation is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize diagnostic assays for translational studies.
- Lead independent and collaborative research projects.
- Mentor junior staff, trainees, and residents.
- Prepare reports, manuscripts, and grant submissions.
- Translate research findings to clinical solutions and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
