Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist in Membrane Protein Biology to advance the Surface Biology program. You will validate cell-surface localization of targets, develop functional assays, and test hypotheses on trafficking to guide modality choices. Collaboration across teams and meticulous documentation will be essential to drive robust, data-driven decisions.

Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. with postdoctoral or industry experience, strong data analysis, and hands-on expertise in live-cell

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required or equivalent postdoctoral/industry experience.
• Master’s +3 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s +5 years relevant experience.
• Strong background in membrane biology and cellular trafficking required.

Responsibilities

• Validate cell-surface localization of target proteins across models and measure surface expression.
• Develop and run cell-based functional assays following perturbation or treatment.
• Test hypotheses on localization/trafficking and generate Go/No-Go decision packages.
• Collaborate across functions; document workflows and present validated data.
