Job summary
Via Separations in Watertown, MA, seeks a Senior Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team developing tailored membrane materials for industrial applications. You will lead experiments from concept to lab-scale validation, designing formulations and driving translation to scalable production.
You hold a PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science with 3+ years of experience in polymers or nanomaterials, and you will apply advanced characterization techniques while collaborating across departments
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience; experience with synthetics (organic chemistry or polymers), 2D materials and/or nanomaterials.
- Characterization experience with SEM/TEM, XPS, TGA, FTIR, UV/Vis, XRD, porosimetry/BET.
Responsibilities
- Develop membrane active materials for applications.
- Understand factors governing membrane performance and stability.
- Devise modification strategies to optimize formulations.
- Qualify materials and production methods at lab scale.
- Collaborate to translate lab improvements into manufacturing.
- Communicate results across teams to advance development.
- Leverage literature to spark new approaches and IP.
