Job summary

Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Senior Scientist, New Product Development in Torrance, CA to develop and commercialize clinical sample preparation consumables and LC‑MS/MS workflows for diverse applications.

You will lead method development, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, review literature, publish findings, and support patent filings while contributing to a broader new product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or a related field; PhD preferred.
• 3+ years hands-on experience developing LC-MS/MS workflows for biological matrices.
• Strong hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS, mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, or related instrumentation, including method development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commercialize clinical sample preparation consumables and LC-MS/MS workflows for clinical research and related fields.
• Identify clinical sample preparation and LC-MS/MS workflow challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot sample preparation methods and workflows across diverse analytes and matrices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, transfer technology, and deliver new products on time.
• Review literature, conduct experiments, evaluate workflow performance, and support patent filings.
