Job summary
Merck seeks a skilled Senior Scientist to lead exploratory vaccines and regulated robotics projects. You will drive hands-on development, optimization, and validation of immunology-based assays, focusing on cellular responses and innate activation for clinical studies.
You will design experiments, apply automation and data-driven decisions, and mentor teammates while ensuring GxP compliance and thorough documentation across programs.
Qualifications
- PhD or MS with industry experience and regulatory exposure.
- BS with substantial industry experience and GxP familiarity.
- Experience with regulated bioanalytical workflows and data integrity.
- Ability to design, troubleshoot, and interpret complex immunology assays.
Responsibilities
- Lead assay lifecycle for cell-based immunoassays from design to transfer.
- Develop intracellular cytokine staining, ELISpot, and related assays.
- Support flow cytometry with calibration and vendor coordination.
- Author SOPs, reports, and communicate risks and strategies.
- Apply automation and data analytics to improve assay performance.
- Mentor junior scientists and ensure GxP documentation compliance.
- Operate in a regulated environment with complete record-keeping.
