Job summary

AbbVie in Maryland seeks a senior scientific professional to drive mRNA/dsRNA purification, tLNP formulation, and process development from bench to GMP-scale. You will lead collaborative efforts, contribute to publications and regulatory documents, and mentor junior colleagues while delivering robust, scalable science across modalities.

The role requires strong independence, deep knowledge of biomedical science, and a track record of advancing experimental strategies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.
• Experience in mRNA and tLNP process development preferred.
• Scale-up and GMP manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and implement novel experimental approaches to answer scientific questions.
• Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques.
• Develop productive collaborations and communications with other groups across science disciplines.
• Direct mentorship of others while maintaining high productivity in the lab.
• Author publications, presentations, and/or primary inventor of patents.
