Job summary

TAE Technologies is seeking candidates to advance the Da Vinci fusion machine, focusing on a powerful NB injecting system. You will develop long-pulse plasma sources, extract and accelerate beams, and test beamline components while performing plasma generation and beam transport simulations.

The role involves designing NB systems with engineering teams, testing subsystems, and developing diagnostics for high-power NB. Strong background in plasma/beam physics is required.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred in physics, plasma physics, engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct low temperature plasma experiments and plasma generation simulations.
• Develop and optimize ion beam optics.
• Design NB systems and test NB subsystems with engineering teams.
• Develop beamline vacuum systems and diagnostics for high-power NB.
• Perform simulations and experimental characterisation of beam transport and formation.
