Job summary

TRIANA Biomedicines, a Greater Boston biotechnology company, seeks an experienced immunologist to advance discovery programs by linking target degradation to disease-relevant immunological outcomes in autoimmune and inflammatory disease.

The candidate will design robust in vitro assays, evaluate in vivo pharmacology in rodent models, interpret complex data, and communicate insights across cross-functional teams to drive program progression.

Qualifications

  • Discovery-stage immunology and inflammation programs advanced to in vivo proof of concept in biotech/pharmaceutical environments.
  • Hands-on molecular and cellular biology skills including cell culture, gene knockout/knockdown (CRISPR/Cas9, RNAi), transfection and lentiviral systems, signaling analysis, immunoprecipitation/immunoblotting, qRT-PCR and proliferation/viability assays.
  • Experience with rodent models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease, study design, dosing, interpretation of disease and pharmacodynamic readouts, including ex vivo immunophenotyping, plus CRO oversight and histopathology interpretation.
  • Solid immunology expertise across innate and adaptive immunity with flow cytometry, primary immune cell isolation, cytokine profiling and immune functional assays.
  • Clear, effective communicator who collaborates across scientific disciplines and presents rigorous analyses to support program decisions.
  • Familiarity with targeted protein degradation or molecular glue mechanisms; IND-enabling studies in autoimmunity is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assay Development: Design, develop and implement robust disease relevant cell-based assays to assess target engagement, protein degradation, and downstream pathway modulation.
  • Mechanistic Biology: Design and execute experiments that connect target degradation to phenotypic response in primary human immune cells and in validated in vivo models of autoimmune disease.
  • In Vivo Pharmacology: Design, manage and interpret in vivo studies conducted with external partners in rodent models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease, including PK/PD and efficacy studies, translating target degradation and pharmacodynamic readouts into disease-relevant endpoints.
  • Data Generation & Interpretation: Identify critical project questions and produce high-quality, actionable datasets that guide stage-appropriate program decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Distill complex biological data into clear insights and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional partners and leadership; maintain thorough and accurate experimental documentation.

Job description

Description
About TRIANA Biomedicines

TRIANA Biomedicines is a Greater Boston biotechnology company building the leading molecular glue discovery platform to regulate disease targets that are difficult to address with any other modality. TRIANA’s drug discovery engine is powered by high-resolution structural insights, state-of-the-art AI and computational tools, and bespoke chemical libraries.

TRIANA’s target-first and rational approach to molecular glue discovery is currently focused on inducing or enhancing the degradation of high-profile cancer targets. The therapeutic approach pioneered by TRIANA has the potential to fundamentally change the paradigm of small molecule drug discovery and bring significant therapeutic benefits to patients. TRIANA is a private company with a top-tier investor syndicate.

We are seeking an experienced immunologist with deep in vitro and in vivo pharmacology expertise to join our Biology and Translational Sciences group. This role is central to advancing discovery programs from hit validation on by establishing clear mechanistic and translational links between target degradation and disease-relevant immunological outcomes in autoimmune and inflammatory disease.

We are looking for a scientifically rigorous, highly accountable individual who thrives in a fast-paced biotech environment and is motivated by generating decisive data that drives program progression.

  • In Vivo Pharmacology: Design, manage and interpret in vivo studies conducted with external partners in rodent models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis), including PK/PD and efficacy studies, and translate target degradation and pharmacodynamic readouts into disease-relevant endpoints.
  • Data Generation & Interpretation: Identify critical project questions and produce high-quality, actionable datasets that guide stage-appropriate program decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Distill complex biological data into clear insights and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional partners and leadership; maintain thorough and accurate experimental documentation.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated track record advancing discovery-stage immunology and inflammation programs to in vivo proof of concept in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise in molecular and cellular biology, including cell culture, gene knockout and knockdown approaches (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, RNAi), transfection and lentiviral systems, cell signaling and pathway analysis, immunoprecipitation/immunoblotting, qRT-PCR, and proliferation or viability assays.
  • In-depth experience with rodent models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease (e.g., collagen- or adjuvant-induced arthritis, humanized or adoptive transfer models), spanning study design, dosing regimens, and interpretation of disease and pharmacodynamic readouts, including ex vivo immunophenotyping; comfortable overseeing CRO-run studies and interpreting clinical scoring and histopathology data.
  • Solid immunology expertise across innate and adaptive immunity, with hands-on flow cytometry, primary immune cell isolation and culture, cytokine profiling, and immune functional assays.
  • Clear, effective communicator who collaborates across scientific disciplines and presents rigorous analyses that support informed program decisions.
  • Familiarity with targeted protein degradation or molecular glue mechanisms preferred; experience supporting IND-enabling studies in autoimmunity is a plus.
Education & Experience

Ph.D. in Immunology, Immunobiology, or a related discipline with 6+ years of post-graduate experience (industry experience preferred) or B.S./M.S. with 12+ years of industry experience.

We welcome applications from skilled individuals whose qualifications may not fit the criteria outlined above.

Base Salary Range: $130-$145k
