Tempus seeks a Senior Scientist, Applied Machine Learning and Generative AI, Pharma R&D to perform complex analyses and develop advanced models and tools for drug R&D. The candidate will work with large multimodal datasets, build causal and generative AI solutions, and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Additional 2+ years of relevant industry or post‑doc experience
• Quantitative and computational skills with focus on causal AI, causal inference and/or explainable AI
• Biological, medical, or drug development knowledge and data (oncology, RWE, medical science, clinical drug development)
• Proficient in R, Python, and SQL; experience with agentic orchestration tools and LLM-driven architectures
• Peer-reviewed publication track record and excellent communication skills

Responsabilités

• Data Expertise: work with large multimodal datasets across epidemiological, clinical, genomic, transcriptomic, and pathology data
• Innovation: build and champion new ML and generative AI capabilities for pharma R&D
• Teamwork: collaborate with Research, Engineering & Data Science teams and Pharma partner science/clinical teams
• Drug R&D Expertise: learn pharma strategies, modalities, and pipelines to add platform value
• Scientific Communication: translate complex results for diverse external stakeholders
• Scientific Leadership: guide AI adoption and provide coaching to increase impact
• Continuous learning: stay updated on ML/AI advancements to advance drug R&D
