Job summary

SHL Group in Atlanta is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead the design and prototyping of next‑generation assessments, blending rigorous psychometrics with AI-enabled candidate experiences. You will work cross‑functionally with Product, Legal and client teams to convert concepts into functional proofs of concept and to establish expert frameworks in AI/ML scoring.

Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Data Science or a closely related field
5+ years of post-graduate experience designing, developing, or validating assessments used in organizational decision-making

Responsibilities

Design novel assessments and measurement concepts, including simulations, SJTs, adaptive formats, and AI-driven task types
Build working prototypes and proofs-of-concept using modern AI tooling
Own psychometric quality across reliability, validity, and scoring
Ensure fairness and legal defensibility in design and development
Translate measurement constructs into engaging candidate experiences
Run validation studies and communicate findings to diverse audiences
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, and clients to move prototypes toward production
Monitor AI/ML and psychometrics advances and apply them responsibly
