Job summary

Datacor, Inc. seeks a senior numerical software engineer to advance GoldSim, our dynamic simulation framework. You will own numerical algorithms, validate models, and collaborate across engineering to deliver robust scientific software.

The role blends design, implementation, and documentation, with opportunities to apply AI/ML to improve simulations. Hybrid work with US offices, including Seattle, is available.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for solving science and engineering problems.
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience with numerical libraries and frameworks.
• Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions.
• Good communications skills and teamwork.
• Experience developing Windows desktop applications; familiarity with MATLAB, R, Tableau.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to scientific software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions across the full development lifecycle.
• Own numerical solutions and mathematical algorithms for GoldSim's simulation engine in C++.
• Push practical improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities and propose new features.
• Model building and verification for QA and customer support.
• Documentation of theoretical basis and practical implementation of numerical methods.
• Collaborate with software engineering to integrate numerical capabilities.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and support stakeholders.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to engineers, QA, and product teams.
