Job summary

Datacor, Inc. seeks a senior developer to join GoldSim's team, shaping numerical capabilities and modeling for the GoldSim engine. You will influence design discussions and implement core numerical solutions in C++, contributing to a state-of-the-art simulation framework.

You will document methods, collaborate across disciplines, and explore ML-driven enhancements while aligning to customer needs and product goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for solving science and engineering problems (e.g., matrix algebra, PDEs).
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience in scientific or engineering applications; familiarity with numerical libraries is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions to real-world problems.
• Good communication skills; ability to write clearly and interact with other team members.
• Experience developing Windows desktop applications; familiarity with MATLAB, R, Tableau is a plus.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to scientific software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement numerical solutions and algorithms underpinning GoldSim's engine from theory to C++ implementation.
• Push real-world improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities and propose new features driven by customer needs.
• Build GoldSim models to validate new or improved algorithms for QA and customer support.
• Document the theoretical basis and practical implementation of numerical methods.
• Work with software engineers to integrate enhancements into the platform and translate requirements into specs.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, QA, and stakeholders.
• Explore modern computational approaches, including ML, to accelerate or extend simulations.
