Job summary

Datacor's GoldSim team seeks a Senior Lead Scientific Programmer / Software Engineer to advance the GoldSim simulation framework. You will design and implement numerical algorithms in C++, driving practical improvements and extending capabilities for real-world modeling needs.

You will document theoretical and practical aspects, collaborate with engineering, QA, and product stakeholders, and explore modern computational approaches including AI/ML to accelerate simulations.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academics.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for science/engineering problems.
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience with familiarity with numerical libraries.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions and all aspects of the application development across the full development lifecycle, not just the mathematical layer.
• Own the numerical solutions and algorithms underlying GoldSim's simulation engine from theory to implementation in C++ codebase.
• Push practical improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities and propose features driven by customer needs.
• Collaborate with the software engineering team to integrate numerical capabilities into the platform.
