Job summary

Datacor's GoldSim team seeks a senior scientist/engineer to advance numerical modeling and simulation capabilities within the GoldSim framework. The role blends theory, algorithm design, and practical implementation in C++ to improve the physics-based modeling engine.

The ideal candidate has a PhD or Master’s, strong math skills, and experience applying AI/ML ideas to engineering software, with a track record of delivering robust numerical solutions.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD level in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for science/engineering problems.
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience in scientific/engineering apps; familiarity with numerical libraries is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions to real-world problems.
• Good written and verbal communication; ability to interact with team members.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions across the full development lifecycle.
• Own the numerical solutions and mathematical algorithms underpinning GoldSim's engine in C++.
• Push improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities and propose new features.
• Build GoldSim models to QA and support customers.
• Document theoretical basis and practical implementation of numerical methods.
