Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Richmond is seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable senior science tutors to join our Richmond team. You will work one-on-one with students to support their academic success in subjects such as general science, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and other STEM-related areas.

Tutors will tailor instruction to individual learning styles to help students build confidence and mastery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and Virginia teaching certificate or equivalent
• 2+ years of teaching in a private, public, or charter school or as a lecturer/instructor
• Master’s or PhD student with teaching assistant experience in a US university
• Certified educators or STEM subject matter experts, aspiring educators

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in science and/or math aligned with Virginia’s curriculum standards
• Design and deliver customized tutoring sessions in STEM subjects
• Offer remedial or enrichment instruction based on each student’s needs
• Assign supplemental materials to enhance understanding and retention
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to report on student progress and goals
