Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Special Security Officer (SSO) to support SCI operations at Fort Meade, MD. The role covers SCI personnel, physical, and information security, with responsibilities including maintaining directives, safeguarding SCI, and handling visitor clearances.

Ideal candidates have a TS/SCI with Polygraph on day 1, a Bachelor's with 4+ years (or an Associate with 6+ years), and strong knowledge of ICD 704/705 and DoDM 5105.21.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance on day 1.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years or Associate's with 6+ years.
• Full-time experience with SCI in all security disciplines.
• Knowledge of ICD 704, ICD 705, DoDM 5105.21 and related directives.
• Ability to work independently and assess security risks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to discharge SSO duties.
• Ensure SCI is accounted for, protected, and safeguarded.
• Ensure SCI is destroyed by authorized means.
• Disseminate SCI only to authorized persons with need-to-know.
• Investigate SCI security infractions and report to Chief SSO.
• Maintain liaison with collateral security officials for mission success.
• Conduct SCI personnel, information, physical and technical security actions.
• Provide SCI security trainings as required by regulations.
• Handle nomination interviews, SCI access requirements, NDA/NDS processing.
• Certify and receive SCI visitor clearances/accesses.
• Maintain DISS for all personnel.
• Guide processing of SCI position and eligibility requests.
• Process derogatory information and assist with Security Information Files.
• Assist in physical security for SCIFs and accreditation paperwork.
• Ensure SCIF accreditation docs and annual self-inspections.
