Job summary

Playworks in Boston is looking for a Senior Program Coordinator to support schools through direct student programming and whole-school partnerships. You will lead recess programming, supervise CGT sessions, and drive youth leadership initiatives with 4th- and 5th-grade students.

The role emphasizes building trust with school staff, fostering positive behavior, and advancing school-wide improvement goals through play-based strategies with a team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary-aged students in school or youth development settings.
• Ability to build relationships quickly within school communities.
• Willingness to participate in games and set a positive example for children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate active recess programming that promotes positive behavior, student engagement, and meaningful play experiences.
• Lead Class Game Time sessions that build teamwork, conflict resolution, confidence, and physical activity.
• Coordinate and mentor the Junior Coach Leadership Program for 4th- and 5th-grade students.
• Model strong relationship-building and positive behavior with students, staff, and families.
• Partner with school leadership to support attendance, climate, behavior, and student belonging goals.
• Use data to inform planning, monitor impact, and support continuous improvement.
• Meet regularly with school administrators and Playworks leadership to review progress toward goals.
• Attend trainings and represent Playworks professionally in all interactions.
