Job summary

A candidate must have relevant janitorial and supervisory experience, including comparable work in state service, and demonstrate supervisory aptitude.

Qualifications

• At least one year of work experience comparable to a School Custodian in the State service.
• Must demonstrate supervisory aptitude.
• General janitorial and grounds maintenance experience.
• Experience in supervising or assisting with special school functions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directs work of custodial staff to ensure clean and orderly buildings and grounds.
• Assigns, inspects and supervises custodial tasks and prepares for special school events.
• Maintains records of supplies and equipment, and handles inventories.
• Keeps daily time sheets and reports unusual occurrences or accidents.
• May operate power equipment and supervise student help when assigned.
