Job summary

Madrona Elementary School in Grants Pass, Oregon is seeking a Head Custodian III to lead cleaning, maintenance and repairs for the school facilities. The role requires 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 260 days per year, with a starting compensation range and benefits.

The successful candidate will perform repairs, supervise routine cleaning and ensure a safe learning environment while following district guidelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds.
• Skill in the use of electrical and hand appliances ordinarily used in housekeeping activities.
• Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to structures and equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to keep records and make reports required by administration.
• Physical strength to withstand the strain of performing eight hours of manual tasks.
• High moral standards and character necessary for association with children.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, students and general public.
• Good communication skills and habits, willingness to maintain open lines of communication.
• Preferably six months of experience in work relating to the care of school buildings and grounds.
• Ability to understand, interpret and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buildings and grounds in accordance with district standards.
• Assist with plumbing and electrical tasks as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Keep accurate records and report maintenance Work orders.
• Follow all safety and district procedures.
