Job summary

USD 259 is seeking a Custodian to assist the custodial staff in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students and staff at the district facilities. The role includes a variety of daily tasks, potential supervision of part-time staff, and collaboration with the Building Custodial Supervisor on school activities and events.

Responsibilities cover dusting, floor care, restrooms, recycling, and energy management, with duties expanding to weekly tasks and occasional after-hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficiency of Custodial Operations certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial duties in assigned areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash) and restrooms.
• Clean gym, locker room, auditorium, and lunch room areas.
• Assist with energy management (lights, urinals, water fountains).
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor and secure the building before leaving.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with setup of equipment as needed.
