Responsibilities

• Handle and store semen properly and observe correct thawing procedures.

A large dairy located in Virginia is searching for a qualified Breeder. Responsibilities for this position include artificially inseminating heifers daily, following individual breeding protocols, selection of semen to be use for insemination process for each source farm, and paint and heat detect heifers daily. Will also give lute shots and GnRH shots daily per protocol and use CIDRs as needed. Will be required to enter daily documentation into Dairy Comp to ensure adequate documentation and records. Will give attention to detail when storing, transporting, and thawing of semen. Also, responsible for performance of pregnancy checks on heifers using an ultrasound.
