Job summary

GFT in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support major electric utility transmission and substation projects. You will develop and maintain integrated schedules using Primavera P6, coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors, and report on progress and risks.

The role requires 7+ years of scheduling experience, advanced Primavera P6 skills, CPM knowledge, and strong communication. A hybrid work environment is offered with opportunities for travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of project scheduling experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Primavera Enterprise V7.0.
• Strong understanding of CPM scheduling.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with major electric utility transmission and substation capital projects.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
• Experience with outage scheduling and project controls.
• PMP, PSP, or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Build schedules for engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and recovery opportunities.
• Prepare monthly schedule update reports and 4-week look-ahead schedules.
• Provide weekly schedule updates during active construction.
• Integrate contractor cost-loaded schedules into the master schedule.
• Support earned value management reporting and project performance tracking.
• Coordinate schedule development with stakeholders and facilitate baseline reviews.
• Track procurement milestones, material deliveries, outage requirements, and key project milestones.
• May require some travel to work site locations as needed.
