Job summary

MWH is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support the construction of water and wastewater projects in the United States, with projects ranging up to $1.5 billion. The role is based in Austin, TX and is full-time on the project site. You will develop and update schedules, analyze risks, and provide guidance to project teams.

You will apply Primavera, MS Office, and other scheduling tools to manage baselines, track progress, and facilitate change management, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
  • 10–15 years of project scheduling experience including baseline schedules, updates, and audits.
  • Proficient with Primavera scheduling software and MS Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to work full-time on a project site.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate schedules using industry best practices and insights from project team members.
  • Update project schedules and communicate results to the project team; suggest actions as needed.
  • Review changes for impacts to the schedule; assist in preparing change notices as required by contract.
  • Ensure schedules comply with procedures, contract requirements and industry best practices; recommend corrective action.
  • Prepare monthly schedule reports for project and management use.
  • Provide schedule guidance to schedule software users as needed.
  • Plan construction, startup, and commissioning activities at the project site.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress.
  • Estimate durations of materials, equipment, or labor to determine feasibility.
  • Prepare or present pursuit or proposal schedules.
  • Identify risks and risk management strategies for projects.

About The Role

MWH is currently seeking a Senior Scheduler to support the construction of water/wastewater projects within the United States ranging from $900 million to $1.5 billion dollars. The position will be based in Austin, TX and will be full-time on the project.

Essential Functions
  • Develop accurate schedules using industry best practices and insight from project team members.
  • Update project schedules in accordance with company procedures and industry best practices. Communicate results to project team and suggest action when necessary.
  • Review project changes for impacts to the project schedule and assist in preparing change notices as required by contract.
  • Review project schedules for compliance with company procedures, contract requirements and industry best practices. Recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Prepare monthly schedule reports for project and management use.
  • Provide schedule guidance to schedule software users as needed.
  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Plan the construction, startup, and commissioning activities at the project site.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geological data.
  • Estimate durations of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
  • Prepare or present pursuit or proposal schedules.
  • Identify risks and risk management strategies for projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science or higher university degree in Engineering, construction management or a related degree. An equivalent combination of experience, skills and training may be substituted.
  • 10–15 years of project scheduling experience covering development of baseline schedules, incorporating subcontractor schedules, schedule updating and analysis of progress, including project compliance processes and audits.
  • Knowledge of general construction practices and sequences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other normal business applications.
  • Excellent in Primavera scheduling software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer facing experience.
  • Ability to work full-time on a project site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project planning experience.
  • Water/wastewater treatment plant experience.
  • Working knowledge of other scheduling software (MS Project, NetPoint, etc.).
  • Earned Value Management experience on self-perform projects.
  • Experience with schedule analytic software (SmartPM, Acumen Fuse, etc.).
  • Experience with 4D/BIM software.
  • Experience with Lean Construction or Last Planner System.
  • Professional Scheduler Certification from PMI (PMI‑SP) or AACE (PSP).
Compensation
  • Anticipated budgeted salary for this position is $110,000–$160,000 per year based on experience.
