Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer - SATCOM to support the technical planning, development, and integration of mission-planning and systems-engineering artifacts for space communications programs.

You will work with cross-functional teams to shape requirements, architectures, ICDs, and verification artifacts, ensuring traceability and alignment with program objectives in a secure, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 10+ years in Systems Engineering or
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in Systems Engineering, or
• Master's degree with 6+ years in Systems Engineering, or
• Ph.D. with 3+ years in Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback and refinement for missionlevel specifications with system integrator and engineering teams.
• Develop requirements, architectures, use cases, analyses, interface definitions, and system-level roadmaps.
• Derive component-level requirements from operational needs and stakeholder priorities.
• Lead or support ICD generation and implementation.
• Create requirement verification artifacts for mission planning and component specs.
• Collaborate with data, AI/ML, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate inputs and validation methods.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and integration issues across system engineering activities.
• Ensure SE efforts align with program objectives, MBSE practices, and stakeholder needs.
• Support ground systems engineering and Agile development workflows.
