Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA seeks a Senior Engineering Specialist for SAR signal and image processing. You will lead development of processing techniques, evaluate high-res SAR data, and mentor engineers, while coordinating with government customers on multi-phase programs.

Applicants must have an advanced degree and 10+ years in RF/image processing, with strong math skills and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geophysics or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant RF signal and/or image processing experience.
• Strong background in Fourier transforms, differential equations, and estimation theory.
• Experience with modeling and simulation of complex SAR or radar system performance.
• Proven experience as an integration leader and coordinator of technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance signal and image processing techniques for SAR data.
• Create and evolve SAR data processors to improve quality and explore advanced radar algorithms.
• Evaluate SAR data utility for high-resolution imagery, MTI, maritime surveillance, and electronic protection.
• Model performance of SAR payload concepts, designs, prototypes, and flight hardware for government customers.
• Mentor early and mid-career engineers within RPAD to maintain SAR processing knowledge.
• Serve as the integration leader and principal technical representative to customers for large, multi-phase projects.
