Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Solution Architect to lead architecture and engineering teams responsible for ABAP development, SAP BTP, and SAP BASIS as part of a large-scale transformation of Amazon’s Finance ERP platform.

You will own the technical architecture and strategy for SAP development, guide ABAP/BTP/BASIS teams, define standards, governance, and delivery, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable SAP environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years IT development/implementation experience in software or Internet industries.
Experience leading engineering teams as mentor or tech lead; strong debugging and optimization skills.
Deep expertise in ABAP development, SAP BTP, SAP BASIS, SAP integration, or SAP technical architecture.

Responsibilities

Own the SAP technical architecture and engineering strategy across ABAP, BTP, BASIS, integrations, extensibility, and platform operations.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of ABAP developers, BTP engineers, and BASIS professionals; set ownership, standards, and delivery expectations.
Define technical patterns and guardrails for SAP configuration, custom development, workflows, reports, interfaces, and extensions.
Enforce clean-core principles; determine when functionality uses standard SAP, in-app extensibility, or custom ABAP development.
Own the BTP architecture, environments, connectivity, identity, security, and lifecycle management.
Lead BASIS architecture; manage transports, upgrades, performance, DR, monitoring, and production support.
Establish software-development standards including CI/CD, version control, testing, and release governance.
Collaborate with functional architects to translate requirements into scalable designs and delivery estimates.
Review designs for performance, security, cost, and resilience; approve solutions meeting requirements.
Develop roadmaps, architecture documents, and executive updates detailing priorities and investments.
Evaluate SAP and generative AI capabilities to improve productivity, UX, automation, and monitoring.
