Job summary

C5MI Insights LLC. is seeking a Principal SAP Retail POS Consultant to lead DoD S/4HANA and CAR deployments for NAF entities.

You will align SAP Retail with client goals, design compliant retail processes, and bridge business needs with technical teams across global stores, distribution centers, and e-commerce platforms. You will guide master data, conversions, and multichannel strategies while mentoring consultants on military retail specifics and SAP solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in large-scale retail systems, preferably SAP Retail, CAR, or S/4HANA.
• Subject matter expertise in retail operations, merchandising, store ops, and multichannel.
• Proven track record in major retail system implementations.
• Strong understanding of retail financial concepts like margin, inventory valuation, and sales auditing.
• Familiarity with DoD/military retail operations (NAF, NEX, AAFES, MCX).
• Excellent communication skills for executives and leaders.
• Industry-recognized SAP certifications in S/4HANA Retail, CAR, or related SAP Retail area.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain active government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary POS SME for DoD S/4HANA implementations for NAF entities.
• Advise on retail structure for global stores, DCs, and e-commerce.
• Design sales and payment processes for exchange-specific scenarios (tax-free sales, Military STAR Card, gift cards, layaway).
• Advise on inventory management and replenishment strategies (DSD, cross-docking, allocation).
• Ensure accurate sales/margin reporting and support financial close with audit trails.
• Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops translating business rules to SAP Retail processes.
• Oversee interfaces between S/4HANA, CAR and external systems (e-commerce, WMS, payment processors).
• Guide master data strategy including article master with variants, vendor, and loyalty data.
• Oversee data conversion of legacy data into S/4HANA/CAR.
