Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced SAP HANA Engineer for a 100% remote U.S. role. You will design, build, and optimize HANA-native data models supporting S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and standalone HANA platforms.

You will diagnose and resolve HANA performance issues, create CALC/ CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript, and collaborate with Basis, ABAP, and analytics teams to ensure seamless integration across SAP landscapes. Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of SAP HANA development experience.
• Deep expertise with calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript.
• Strong understanding of HANA architecture and in‑memory processing.
• Hands‑on experience with HANA performance tuning tools and methodologies.
• Experience with HANA replication tools (SLT, SDI, SDA).
• Knowledge of HANA security models and analytic privileges/roles.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA embedded analytics or BW/4HANA modeling.
• Strong SQL skills and debugging abilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript procedures for analytical and transactional workloads.
• Translate requirements into well‑structured HANA data models balancing flexibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Optimize queries, joins, and aggregations using partitioning, pruning, and parallelization in HANA.
• Lead HANA performance reviews and audits using HANA Studio Plan Visualizer, ST04, ST05, and DBACOCKPIT.
• Implement security models for HANA including analytic privileges, roles, and row‑level security.
• Design and operate HANA replication scenarios using SLT, SDI, and SDA.
• Support data tiering with HANA Native Storage Extension and dynamic tiering as appropriate.
• Build and maintain HANA‑native apps and procedures consumed by Fiori, BW, and BTP services.
• Lead capacity planning and sizing for HANA systems with current and projected workloads.
• Collaborate with Basis, ABAP, and analytics teams to ensure integration with the broader landscape.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for architecture, decisions, and runbooks.
• Mentor junior developers on HANA‑native development and performance best practices.
