Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in SAP development to design, build, and maintain SAP applications. You will lead SAP projects across ABAP, Fiori, and BTP, guiding teams and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable solutions.

The role requires deep SAP expertise, experience with S/4HANA, OData, and cloud-based SAP platforms, with a hybrid work arrangement in Warren, MI or Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Extensive SAP development experience with RICEFW, RAP & OData.
• Minimum 2 years SAP BTP implementation for app development, automation, and data & analytics.
• Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming including RESTful programming and CDS.
• Strong experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData services.
• Knowledge of SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI/CO.
• Familiarity with BTP tools like Build Work Zone, BAS, and GIT.
• Experience building cloud-based SAP applications on BTP.
• Experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments and migrations.
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform, RISE, and integration technologies (IDocs, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST).
• Develops globally compatible, reusable, flexible architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions using SAP BTP, ABAP, Fiori, SAPUI5 and related technologies.
• Participate in full lifecycle of SAP projects from requirements to go-live and support.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews to ensure best practices and performance.
• Collaborate with functional teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Adhere to Clean Core principles and cloud-based approaches; document designs and test plans.
• Develop and maintain technical docs and user manuals; provide ongoing SAP support and maintenance.
