Job description

Carex is partnering with a BioTech industry partner to identify a Senior SAP Application Analyst who will support the design, development, configuration, and continuous improvement of SAP systems. This role serves as a primary contact for SAP application users, ensuring reliable system performance while identifying and resolving technical and process issues. The Senior SAP Application Analyst collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, improve workflows, and enable business processes through modern SAP development practices and platform enhancements.This is a Direct Hire role and will be onsite several days a week in Madison, WI. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You'll Do

• Design, configure, and support SAP applications while leading upgrades, enhancements, and improvements for assigned systems.
• Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems that are practical, scalable, and aligned with business requirements.
• Perform independent development and configuration work within assigned SAP applications and technology platforms.
• Conduct impact analysis for requested system changes and enhancements while estimating development and support efforts.
• Identify issues within SAP applications and across integrated systems, working with cross-functional teams to resolve them effectively.
• Guide workflow design, configure and test system updates, and analyze technical challenges associated with application functionality.
• Partner with business stakeholders and vendor teams to ensure technology solutions align with operational needs and project objectives.
• Create and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications and workflow documentation.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned SAP applications and provide production support for end‑user issues.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve business workflows and operational efficiency through technology enhancements.
• Troubleshoot application issues, provide status updates to stakeholders, and support project leadership with ongoing issue tracking.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on system configuration, development practices, and problem resolution.
• Lead internal documentation and process improvement initiatives to strengthen IT team practices and operational efficiency.
• Participate in user training activities and support adoption of new system capabilities and enhancements.
• Collaborate across cross‑functional teams while applying strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or a High School Diploma/GED with extensive relevant experience in enterprise systems development or support.
• 5+ years of experience developing or configuring enterprise technology solutions in an application analyst, SAP developer, or project delivery role.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA development, including ABAP on HANA and object‑oriented ABAP.
• Hands‑on experience with modern SAP development techniques including CDS views, SQL optimization, and performance‑focused development.
• Familiarity with SAP RAP and extensibility models aligned with Clean Core principles.
• Experience with SAP Fiori development including Fiori Elements, UI adaptation/extensions, or freestyle applications.
• Experience supporting S/4HANA upgrades including SPAU/SPDD adjustments, SAP Notes implementation, and custom code remediation.
• Experience working within cloud‑based SAP environments including RISE with SAP.
• Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including Cloud Foundry or Kyma environments.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite technologies including CPI, API‑based integrations, OData services, REST APIs, and hybrid SAP/non‑SAP integrations.
• Experience building side‑by‑side extensions using SAP CAP (Node.js or Java) or other cloud‑native development approaches.
• Understanding of event‑driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, and API‑first integration strategies.
• Proficiency with modern SAP development tools such as Eclipse and ABAP Development Tools (ADT).
• Strong understanding of SAP Data Dictionary concepts, enterprise application architecture, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross‑functional environments, adapt to evolving business needs, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
