Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III – SAP S/4HANA ABAP Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise SAP solutions. You will work in Corporate Technology, collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver scalable enhancements and stable services.

You will own Level 3 production support, contribute to reliability, and drive modernization using CDS views, ABAP on HANA patterns, and AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Strong hands-on SAP ABAP in an enterprise environment.
• Strong S/4HANA development experience with CDS-based data modeling and performance tuning.
• Experience designing and consuming OData services and building REST and SOAP integrations.
• Hands-on SAPUI5 and Fiori development.
• Experience in Agile delivery with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and own Level 3 production support.
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with validation of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP S/4HANA solutions across enhancements and Level 3 support.
• Build and deploy SAPUI5 and Fiori applications with proper role and catalog configurations.
• Develop and consume OData services and REST/SOAP integrations.
• Engineer ABAP components using OO ABAP with reusable services.
• Apply modern ABAP on HANA patterns with CDS views and AMDP.
• Apply clean code, perform reviews, and optimize performance for critical workloads.
• Drive test automation and quality practices, including unit and integration testing.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools and validate outputs through peer review and secure coding.
