Source Advisors, a specialized tax consulting firm, seeks a Senior Tax Associate in the State and Local Tax group to lead engagements and oversee associates, with a focus on sales and use tax and other SALT areas.

You will collaborate with managers and partners, develop tax planning strategies, conduct SALT research, manage audits, and mentor junior staff, while ensuring compliance and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in sales and use tax consulting within a public accounting firm.
• Familiarity with other SALT areas such as state income tax and property tax is a plus.
• Deep understanding of sales and use tax laws, regulations, and multistate compliance.
• Proficient with sales and use tax software and general tax software.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement advanced tax planning strategies with emphasis on sales and use tax issues, nexus, exemption certificates, and multistate compliance.
• Conduct research on SALT issues, interpret new legislation, and advise on complex client situations.
• Serve as primary contact for key clients, delivering strategic tax advice and resolving inquiries.
• Lead and manage sales and use tax audits, prepare documentation, respond to tax authorities, and represent clients in audit negotiations.
• Mentor junior associates, review work, and support professional development with managers and partners.
• Maintain documentation for SALT positions and ensure compliance with firm standards.
