Job summary

CLA is seeking a Manager/Director – Sales & Use Tax to join our State & Local Tax (SALT) practice in Washington. You will drive SALT growth, manage diverse projects, and guide client strategies on nexus studies and disclosure programs.

You will lead staff, partner with industry leaders, and collaborate with the national Transaction Tax Services team to deliver SALT solutions. CPA is required with ~6 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA certification is required; EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA in rare cases.
• 6 years of relevant SALT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive SALT growth with State & Local Tax leadership, internally and externally.
• Manage SALT projects including nexus studies, restructuring, and disclosure programs.
• Represent clients in negotiations with tax authorities for SALT matters.
• Identify clients and opportunities for SALT service expansion and review support for SALT filings as needed.
• Develop staff (associates and senior associates) and train the SALT team.
• Collaborate with Industry leaders and the national Transaction Tax Services group on SALT matters.
• Lead engagement setup, billing, and adherence to CLA policies and risk management.
