Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife is seeking the Adult Salmonid Trapping and Evaluation Biologist. The role focuses on monitoring Snake River summer steelhead with emphasis at Lyons Ferry Hatchery and Southeast Washington field work.

You will coordinate trapping, sampling, and data sharing with co-managers and partners under the LSRCP. You will supervise technical staff, develop work plans, and help write research proposals while supporting hatchery and wild stock management in

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in fisheries, wildlife management, natural resource science, or environmental science, or closely related field.
• Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of required experience.
• Ph.D. may substitute for two years of required experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead adult salmonid trapping and evaluation activities for the Lower Snake River area.
• Coordinate data collection, sampling, and reporting for summer steelhead and Chinook programs.
• Supervise and mentor technical staff, set objectives, and evaluate performance.
• Develop and manage project proposals, budgets, and external funding.
