As a Senior Salesforce Platform Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

This role is based in Lake County, IL and involves:

1. Collaborating with technology and business groups to design, engineer, and implement data, software, and technology solutions addressing significant scientific or business problems.
2. Investigating and implementing state-of-the-art technology platforms to enhance productivity and efficiency across multiple business areas.
3. Developing collaborations and communication channels with other groups across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Point-and-Click features, Apex, Triggers, LWC, REST/SOAP integrations based on business needs and system analysis.
• Lead projects and guide technical staff in implementing new solutions and operational improvements.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems using problem-solving techniques.
• Conduct design and code reviews, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Create design patterns, coding best practices, and study new Salesforce features for potential incorporation.
• Perform proof of concept (POC) for new features, document findings, and develop business use cases and implementation plans.
• Work autonomously, managing project scope, budget, and timelines effectively.
• Develop technical specifications and design documents.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and vendor consultation.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Program Managers, Business Analysts, and Architects.
• Adhere to corporate standards, policies, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years; PhD with no experience required.
• Thorough understanding of Salesforce administration and development.
• Experience in designing and implementing processes, user adoption, impact analysis, and building custom applications with triggers, Apex, LWC, SOQL, REST/SOAP.
• Salesforce certifications: Administrator, Platform Developer I & II.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
