About the team

We are the B2B Frontline Authority Systems Technology Team, part of the Frontline Enterprise Technology Team within Zillow's Core Technology organization. We develop and maintain systems used by sales and service operators across multiple Zillow B2B lines, focusing on automation and simplification to enhance productivity. We leverage platforms like Salesforce to maximize efficiency and advocate for standard solutions over customizations.

About the role

We seek an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team of Salesforce developers and administrators, promoting engineering best practices. Responsibilities include:

  1. Building, coaching, and developing a high-performing team
  2. Aligning team work with company strategy and driving innovation
  3. Managing capacity and staffing to maximize business value
  4. Ensuring quality software delivery while balancing speed and scalability
  5. Fostering strong relationships with cross-team partners
  6. Identifying and mitigating technology and team risks over the long term
  7. Meeting operational expectations, incident response, root cause analysis, and SLA adherence
  8. Implementing inspection mechanisms for team and technology leadership
  9. Developing a clear engineering vision
  10. Prioritizing backlog to maintain a stable technology stack
  11. Leading through organizational change

This role is categorized as remote, with employees working from any location in the US, subject to company policies. Salary ranges vary by location, with specific ranges provided for certain states and cities.

Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • At least 3 years managing a team of 5+ engineers
  • Proven Salesforce platform experience and understanding of its capabilities and limitations
  • Knowledge of Salesforce declarative features and when to use them
  • Experience with Zendesk in enterprise environments
  • Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Bootstrap, Angular)
  • Familiarity with web services, RESTful APIs, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, HTML, XML, JSON
  • Experience with AWS capabilities
  • Strong relationship-building and cross-organizational alignment skills
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, Scrum, and SDLC
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Event Monitoring and CICD tools like GitLab and Gearset
  • Experience with SaaS applications such as Salesloft, Gong, Genesys Pure Cloud
  • Experience integrating CRM with marketing, sales, and telephony systems
  • Experience in enterprise environments with large user bases
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python)
