The Senior Sales Support Specialist plays a strategic role in driving business growth by identifying, analyzing, and engaging with potential clients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in utilizing analyzing vessel and trade data, identifying high-potential targets, and initiating outreach through cold calling and other channels. This is a role requiring strong communication skills to open new doors and support sales conversion efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Analyze vessel movement and trade data to identify prospective customers and market trends. Generate targeted lead lists based on shipping volume, trade lanes, and industry verticals.
- Outbound Outreach & Cold Calling: Initiate contact with potential clients through phone, email, and social platforms. Engage in meaningful conversations to uncover needs, qualify opportunities, and schedule discovery calls for the sales team.
- Data-Driven Targeting: Utilize platforms like Datamyne, Revenue Vessel, and other trade databases to build and prioritize prospect lists. Leverage insights from CRM and vessel data to identify high-potential targets.
- Sales Intelligence: Provide the sales team with deep insights on target accounts, including company background, supply chain activities, and logistics pain points, to support tailored outreach strategies.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product) to align prospecting efforts with strategic sales objectives.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of outreach, lead progression, and sales activities in CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot). Monitor KPIs and pipeline health.
- Market Research: Track industry trends, competitor activities, and trade route developments to continuously refine targeting strategies.
- Customer Feedback Loop: Relay market and prospect feedback to internal stakeholders to support solution development and service improvement.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or sales intelligence, preferably in logistics or international trade.
- Proven experience with cold calling and engaging new prospects in a B2B environment.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), and sales intelligence platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Datamyne, Revenue Vessel).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trade and vessel data to guide targeting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills.
- Highly organized and self-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Preferred:
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain industry.
- Familiarity with ocean shipping trade lanes, air cargo operations, or warehouse fulfillment business models.
- Ability to adapt messaging to different buyer personas (procurement, logistics managers, operations, etc.).
