Senior Sales Manager - Italy

We have two positions - one based in Milan, and one based in Rome

We are looking for TWO Senior District Sales Managers, one based in Milan, one in Rome, to lead our growing teams in Italy. These roles will report to the Sales Director and will manage teams of Territory Account Managers based in Milan (North) or Rome (South). You will be responsible for executing Illumina’s commercial strategies, ensuring that annual sales and profit objectives are met within your designated territories and district.

To succeed, you should have a background in life sciences, experience selling technology, medical devices, capital equipment, and familiarity with public tenders and clinical environments. You should be a sales leader with a structured approach, experience in sales and people management, sales force experience, and accurate forecasting skills. You will oversee teams of successful Territory Account Managers with large quotas in Italy, one of Europe's fastest-growing regions.

Key Responsibilities include:
  1. Develop, implement, and monitor the district business plan to meet revenue and strategic objectives.
  2. Support and motivate the sales team to meet targets and objectives.
  3. Establish quotas and achieve sales and profit plans quarterly and annually.
  4. Forecast, monitor, and control expenses within budgets.
  5. Accurately forecast customer demand and manage orders and shipments.
  6. Ensure sales staff meet forecasts, adhere to company policies, and develop plans for underperformance.
  7. Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
  8. Talent acquisition, development, and performance management.
Preferred Background:
  • Extensive sales experience in the Life Science industry.
  • Management experience in the Life Science industry.
  • Ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, both oral and written.
