Job summary

Heron Power is hiring its first Sales Engineer. You\'ll work directly with the Sales team to turn customer needs into winning solutions built on the Heron Link, our MVAC-interface power electronics platform, typically paired with an energy storage solution.

You\'ll help shape product concepts, design solutions for specific customer sites, and put together proposals. As the first hire in Sales Engineering, you\'ll help build the function and have room to grow with it.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or a technical field (EE, power systems, power electronics preferred; ME or CS considered).
• 1–3 years hands-on work with energy products (EVs, ESS, power electronics) in design, test, support, sales engineering or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of AC power systems, including voltage levels, transformers and grid interconnection basics.
• Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both customers and engineers.
• Strong modeling and analysis skills, coding language and/or Excel.
• Comfort owning ambiguous problems in a fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities and define product concepts around customer needs.
• Act as the technical lead with customers on calls, site visits and design reviews.
• Develop site-specific designs covering system sizing, storage configuration, single-lines and layouts.
• Pull together technical proposals, pricing inputs and responses to RFPs and RFIs.
• Bring customer feedback to engineering and product so offerings keep improving.
• Build the tools, templates and processes the Sales Engineering team will scale on.
