Senior Sales Engineer – AdTech & Programmatic

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to participate in the complete buyers journey and provide sales enablement within a complex programmatic ad technology sale. Focused on customer solution selling, managing technical integrations, and providing strategic account support to an array of industry leading demand, full-stack and supply side advertiser partners. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong client-facing experience. Managing customer currency across a complex organization is a foundational skill that enables this candidate to be successful.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations & Programmatic Strategy

  • Lead the technical implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of programmatic campaigns across display, video, CTV, mobile, and emerging formats.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, product, and data teams.
  • Leverage new data cohorts and audiences inside a complex data and CRM ecosystem.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and sales teams.
  • Work closely with Brands, Agencies, DSPs and SSPs and across Display and CTV ecosystems.

Account Management & Client Success

  • Focus on a client-centric approach through understanding and aligning with the client’s business goals.
  • Facilitate successful sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in customer events and tradeshows to stimulate interest in our products while evangelizing our success in the market.
  • Be a resource to sales teams for customer strategies.
  • Exhibit passion and tech-savvy by staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in programmatic standards.

Data Analysis & Performance Optimization

  • Monitor key programmatic KPIs (e.g., fill rate, CPMs, bid rates, latency).
  • Enable Data amplification, enrichment and audience creation across the Ad ecosystem.
  • Partner with analytics teams to generate insights and reports on inventory performance and market trends.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Act as a bridge between sales, operations, and product teams, ensuring alignment on strategic initiative.
  • Develop and document best practices, playbooks, and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting sessions and provide internal training on Audience, Inference models, custom algorithms, RTB data, header bidding, and ad serving dynamics.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter by taking ownership of tasks without extensive guidance.
  • Innovate by thinking creatively and be willing to experiment with strategies and tools to maximize impact.
  • Embody an entrepreneurial spirit by rolling up their sleeves and contributing beyond your job description, such as assisting in product feedback.

Qualifications

Programmatic & AdTech Expertise

  • 5+ years in programmatic advertising, AdOps, or SSP/DSP tech operations.
  • Deep knowledge of OpenRTB spec, header bidding (Prebid.js, Prebid Server), and ad server integrations (Google Ad Manager, Amazon TAM, Xandr, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with deal troubleshooting, log-level analysis, and auction dynamics.
  • Interest in evolving trends in vectors, machine learning, generative AI and custom model creation.

Technical Skills

  • Appreciate the technology related to ad technology to the level that you can documentation and diagram customer problems and provide solutions leveraging Symitri technology.
  • Understanding of Hubspot for sales reporting.
  • Ability to debug ad delivery, latency issues, and creative rendering in various programmatic environments.

Account & Relationship Management

  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing publisher and advertiser relationships, ensuring high-quality service across Display and CTV environments.
  • Strategic mindset with a consultative approach to growing revenue and improving campaign efficiency.

Problem-Solving & Leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
  • Proactive, analytical mindset with a passion for optimizing ad delivery and yield.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, data science, and engineering teams.
