Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. This position is responsible for conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis. Activities support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

This role focuses on Heavy Equipment Solutions / Cartage support, including transportation, storage management, installation, and removal of heavy construction equipment. The position is based in Kansas City with travel to job sites nationwide as needed.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct safety inspections ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
• Perform safety audits, document findings, and recommend abatement of hazards.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policies.
• Monitor subcontractors' safety programs and participate in project meetings.
• Support safety program implementation and chair safety committees.
• Assist in investigating accidents and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate injury management and compile injury reports.
• Monitor safety incentive programs.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

As a Senior Safety Specialist, responsibilities expand to include complex hazard identification, advanced safety recommendations, trend analysis, training development, and oversight of larger or multiple projects. You may also develop training strategies, utilize new technologies, and monitor safety metrics for improvement.
