Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis. All activities support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, document findings, and recommend abatement of hazards.
• Oversee safety orientation, drug and alcohol policy compliance, and monitor safety programs of contractors.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss safety matters.
• Assist in investigating accidents and coordinate injury treatment and reporting.
• Support safety incentive programs.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will:

• Possess advanced safety knowledge, identify complex hazards, and provide solutions.
• Utilize safety management systems for trend analysis and recommend mitigations.
• Provide guidance and training on safety topics.
• Assist during insurance audits and oversee complex projects.
• Develop and implement training strategies, including digital and on-the-job training.
• Monitor safety metrics and lead training sessions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Accurate and timely work performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard testing protocols.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in safety/health-related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years construction safety experience required.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
