An experienced safety professional responsible for supporting and improving environmental, health, and safety programs across the organization. This role conducts risk assessments, leads incident investigations, delivers training, and ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, MIOSHA, and other regulatory requirements. The Specialist III partners with HR, Operations, and Facilities to promote a strong safety culture and reduce workplace risk.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, MIOSHA, and all applicable regulations
- Support the development, rollout, and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and recommend corrective actions
- Lead or support incident reporting, root‑cause analysis, and follow‑up corrective actions
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills
- Assist with waste management, environmental reporting, and sustainability initiatives
- Track and report safety KPIs, incident trends, and audit findings
- Conduct site inspections, compliance audits, and follow‑up on corrective actions
- Support emergency response planning and readiness activities
- Partner with HR, Operations, and Facilities to align EHS initiatives with organizational goals
- Identify opportunities to enhance safety culture and improve EHS processes
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, logistics, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MIOSHA, and other regulatory frameworks
- Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety training
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CHMM, or progress toward CSP
- Experience with ISO 14001/45001 systems or sustainability programs
- Advanced training in incident investigation or industrial hygiene
